The Silent Mountains series is an exploration of scale, permanence, and the fleeting nature of alpine light. In the high altitudes, weather changes in seconds, transforming familiar stone faces into dramatic, mysterious obelisks.
My goal was to capture these transitions—the moments when the sun barely clips a ridge, or when the fog rolls in to isolate a single peak from the world below. Utilizing a medium format camera allowed for printing these landscapes at monumental scales, preserving every fracture in the stone and every needle of the pines in the valleys.
